Privilege:BOON or BANE?

“What separates privilege from entitlement is gratitude.”
― Brené Brown

We all are born with a little or more privilege than others. Sometimes it might be in the form of Health, Money or sometimes you just get everything perfect in your life(these kids can focus on something more important) That's when you notice most of the "Rich kids" opt for different sectors like vlogging blogging getting into Theatres, etc. And many of the "Middle-class kids" try to get a job or practice as doctors or engineers in the future. I am in no way Booming Rich and saying poor and middle class can't do anything in their life. We have many examples amongst us those who were poor but wrote their own destiny with a golden Pen. But some of their Success is relative to where or when they were born.

I would like you to play a small game throw a party at your place and invite a few friends (let's say 4). You invite 4 friends of yours and ask each of them to pay you 50 bucks. Randomly serve one of your friends a plate full of exotic food on the Dining Table. Give the other one a Burger and ask them to sit on the couch. Now remaining of your friends will be served with Rice or Biryani and command them to sit outside the house and eat.

You might feel "WASN'T THAT INJUSTICE?"

NO, That was the easiest way I can explain to you "The PRIVILEGE Factor".
If you are reading this right now within the comfort of your own room, for which you don't have to worry about the rent next week. Cool Man! U belong to a very small fraction of people on earth who have all this! Even if you have a good physique then that's icing on the cake.
I know you guys are smart and want some Numbers.

But wait for a while.
Now Imagine different states, countries and how much this disparity will Grow. In some extreme, one might not get to eat that day, and moreover, he will be abused by someone on the streets. I am not asking you to live your life in fear or develop a givingness nature. I just want you all to be humble.

I know you guys might be thinking "Where the F*CK are stats?"

Taking India into account:
"Car ownership stood at 30 vehicles for every thousand Indians at the end of 2018, a small figure for a population of over 1.3 billion." -Statistica
Now you might be thinking "that's a luxury Item you stupid?" Yes, it is for India. Cause there are 983 cars / 1000 people in the US, Canada, and a few other European countries.
Even in the US, 39.98 Million people live below the poverty line and for the count, US Population is around 350 million. That's 11 percent of Poverty in the US. Imagine what's the scenario in India.

Now let us get back to privilege:
If my father is rich, I won't have to think about money. he will buy me Lego sets, they might enroll me in a Music/ Dancing class. So, as a product after my 18, I will stand out in the crowd.
But let's say if he's poor/ middle class, He can at max send me to a good school, I won't get that Lego sets nor they will enroll me in co-curricular classes. So I will plausibly be the same in the crowd with just one skill.
Agree?
Privilege, you agree or not plays an important role in life. you are privileged so are reading this thing on your Ipad. I am privileged so I am writing this on a Laptop.
I don't know but I have a lot to say on this topic and at last, I have to give a verdict Privilege Boon or Bane.
See I am not telling someone who doesn't have privilege, can't do anything big in life. But not to flex I am sharing with you an incident of mine where I was well able to relate with both positive and negative effects of privilege.
So last year, I with my cousin started a company my father sponsored the product and we were good to go. Just before the launch, we needed money for the PR. Even though the product was enough strong to provide quick cash we miserably failed in PR. and that was probably the end of our startup after 7-8 months. He managed all the losses and never talked to me about them ever again. The only thing which remains in my head is, if I got this money the hard way(like from a bank or an investor) would I have ever given up? The question remained unanswered but one thing was clear. It was both a BOON and BANE, I learned from my mistakes a lot and money in front of it was nothing but still it was MONEY!
PR-Press Release.

NOT SO FUN-FACTs:

You now might be thinking "Toh kya Karun mein?"

You go to Mcdonald or Burger king? you have definitely seen-unseen them. But this time buy an extra burger and give one to the poor/needy. You are in a car and someone bangs on your window. Don't "shoo" them away, carry a five rupee biscuit packet and give it to them. If you ever feel like shooing them, Imagine you were on the other side of the window. Instead of bashing a cake on someone's face give it to some poor, instead of throwing lavish birthday Bash; try giving stationaries and stuff to needy Students. I am not saying it is our Responsibility but See these are the places where our hands can reach for now. There are millions of people who need help right now, and if you feel your life is going great then share your happiness.

I know this was nothing much to do with privilege. It was more about a large Disparity between rich and poor. I have a lot of things to discuss on privilege, might take another Blog.

Netflix vs Blockbuster

Netflix vs Blockbuster In the 1990s, Blockbuster was the king of the DVD renting market. It was the launch of Netflix which ended up the company in Bankruptcy. Between the launch of Netflix and Blockbuster Declaring Bankruptcy, there was a war, which went on for years.  Quality x Price Blockbuster as we know was the king of the DVD-renting market.  They were a market leader and a billion-dollar company. The hefty late fees charged by the company were a pain point for Millions of Americans. Around 16 per cent of Blockbuster's Revenue came from Late fees.  Like many other Americans, the founder of Netflix was annoyed by Blockbuster's late fee model. He with his friend started Netflix in 1997 as a DVD in-mail service. They ended up building a subscription-based business model and that too without the late fees making it more affordable to the customer. Quality x Quality By 2004, it had a revenue of 500 Million dollars. The Unique Selling Proposition of Netflix was deli...
In this brief blog post, I want to share my experience of transforming from someone who had never read a single novel, not even the compulsory ones from school, to someone who reads extensively. Although I have not read an enormous number of books, I am proud of the progress I have made. I began my reading journey during my college years to stand out from the crowd through knowledge rather than material possessions. Let me get straight to the point - I began my reading journey with the book "Five point someone" by Chetan Bhagat, which kickstarted my interest in reading. I subsequently read "Wings of Fire", "The subtle art of not giving a fuck", and other books that led me into a journey of voracious reading. Although I have read more than 20 books, I have tried to read 35-40 books in total. I've learned that if a book doesn't pique my interest, it's not my fault, and I just need to keep trying different books until I find one that engages me. J...
